How and When to Be Your Own Doctor

Sometimes, the best things in life are free.  I found this fascinating public domain book on my friend's website in 2008 and devoured its pages because the title intrigued me.

This book empowered me to save my life during the lowest physical period of my life, when all I had was a friend's bed to sleep upon.

The background is too long to go into here.  After I left the monkhood, my health fell off a cliff because I had been ignoring the symptoms my body was sending me.

But having read this book, I no longer fear any of the common maladies that plague the western world.

I've been able to induce my body to heal from scary situations I was certain I'd need expensive surgery for.  Internal organ damage was healed in 7 days.  Covid was fully eradicated in 24 hours.  A car crash was 90% healed in a week.

Having no money turned out to be a blessing in disguise to force me down this path and learn the how my body is inherently designed to heal itself.  Maybe this book will find you as well.

How not to die from ____

Part of my healing journey was being humble to admit I knew more about computers than how my body worked.  I only had one shot to heal it as my body was hanging on by a thread.  Whatever I did had to work.

Fortunately, I found this doctor who was gathering up all the research on nutritional topics and presenting the evidence in compact, dry-witted videos.  Nothing to sell, just research.

As it turned out, he started a worldwide movement called evidenced-based nutrition.  He now has videos where he shows you the healing evidence for topics that don't need to be as life-threatening as they are normally feared.

Like what?  Oh, like reversing heart disease, our #1 killer.  Or cancer, or Type 2 diabetes.  I've been assimilating this knowledge for over a decade, and it's been foundational for me.

Spa Haven

I never was into the idea of spas until I met the owner of this spa, Brandi Euell, who changed my relationship to skin care.  Highly recommended.

Animal Voices

I learned a tremendous amount from the hosts of animal advocacy radio show.  It made me realize that I had been brainwashed since an early age to regard some animals as friends and some as objects.  Giving up my programming to consuming them and regarding them as entertainment changed my life for the better.  No regrets at all, thanks to them.

Meatless Meetup

This free social dine-out group gave me the rich social community that I needed to be able to make the switch from living an animal-based life to a plant-based life.  They made it a joy.
